State of Emergency Declared – Court Hearings Cancelled – Courthouse to Open at 10am Wednesday

Pursuant to a declaration of a State of Emergency by Governor Nathan Deal, the Chief Judge of the Superior Courts for the Appalachian Judicial Circuit has declared a judicial state of emergency exists. All court hearings in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit Superior Courts and Juvenile Courts are cancelled for Wednesday, September 13, 2017. All jurors summoned for Monday should check the jury information line at 706-253-8763 after 6pm on Wednesday for further information.

 

The Chief Judge of the Magistrate Court and the Judge of the Probate Court have cancelled all hearings for Wednesday with the exception of Jail First Appearance hearings. Those will be held in Courtroom D of the Courthouse at 1:30pm.

 

The Superior & Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office, Magistrate Court Clerk’s Office and Probate Court Clerk’s Office will open at 10am on Wednesday subject to any change in weather conditions. State offices inside the courthouse will be reopen on Wednesday as well.
